Patience Honeymoon Island June 13, 2025 Nikon Z7 + N 16-35 Photography can be frustrating when the weather doesn’t always work out. I’ve been out a dozen times in the past month and the sunset just doesn’t want to cooperate. Most days I just do something else but sometimes I just want to be at the beach so I pack my gear and go anyway and challenge myself to shoot whatever I can find. This is one of those photographs. Oceans Promise Honeymoon Island April 29, 2025 Nikon Z7 + N 16-35 I had a moment to sneak off to Honeymoon on Tuesday night. I've been working too much and needed some time with my camera and the ocean. The rocks only appear when the tide recedes and I got a little lucky when the sky opened up and gave me a show. Tolkien Still there is much that is fair… I’ve had a pretty rough start to the year, but thanks to some great friends and family I’m feeling great and starting to feel like the tide is turning. On Saturday and Sunday, after spending some much needed time with some new and old friends at the Skatepark of Tampa Pro Contest, I was surprised with the 2025 Bromander in Chief award from Boards for Bros! I’m so incredibly honored and still completely speechless. Then on Tuesday, I had a moment to sneak off to Honeymoon Island and actually set up my camera. I almost didn’t make the drive as I was exhausted after work and the clouds looked a little too overcast, but I think I just needed to hear the waves again. It was really cold and windy but luckily I was rewarded with one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in a long time. Funny how things work out. Dunes Beneath the Black Gulf Islands National Seashore | Pensacola December 2024 Infrared Converted Nikon D600 + N 28MM I got a very cold and windy tour of Gulf Islands National Seashore in Pensacola from a close friend this past week. It was early afternoon and crazy bright out so I was looking for something interesting to photograph with my infrared camera, and on our drive through we both spotted this scene from the car. Unfortunately, I had to pull into a parking area quite a ways down the road, but thankfully we had a bunch of boards in my car - so I skated back to that area with just my camera and tripod and carefully hiked to the tree and photographed until my fingers froze. Besides being one of the smoothest newly paved black roads I’ve ever ridden, the ride to and from was peaceful and incredibly beautiful.
